Did I warn everyone that you’re probably going to be dealing with baseball turns of phrase for the next seven months…or longer(I don’t always stop in the off season)? Because really, what’s better than baseball? *plugs ears to any haters out there* 😁

This week has felt like I keep swinging at balls just out of the zone. So, so close and yet not something I can make any contact with. Of if I do, they keep curving foul. I just can’t seem to get my timing right. Need to take some practice swings and clear my head before I step into the batter’s box again.

Writing

I started out the week planning to just focus on Triple Play and The Mirror to Perfection. But, that rarely ever works out for me. My main focus was still on Triple Play, but I also ended up working on brainstorming a new idea I had for Changeling, which is going to completely change the story. I did finish making my revision plan for The Mirror to Perfection. I didn’t write nearly as much on Triple Play as I’d been hoping, only about half of my goal in fact, but I did make progress. And I outlined what I still have left to write to keep me from writing another 100k of baseball scenes.

For next week, I picked a primary project(Triple Play), which I’ll work on for an hour every day. I also have 3 secondary projects(Know My Way Around, Jax of All Trade 4, & Prove Me Wrong) which I’ll cycle through for an hour a day(so 2 of them will get worked on twice, and one only the once, which one lacks a day will change each week). And I have 5 tertiary projects(A Ball of Harm, Heart to Heart, Queer Firefighters, Small Town Murder Romance, & Dear History).

I’ll cycle through these as well, so I’ll work on them for 1 hour a week. I’ll also spend an hour on a plotting project and an hour on editing. Then, half an hour on lead magnets for my newsletter and another half hour for marketing. We’ll see how this works out. I may end up adjusting things again.

Reading

Chef’s Choice

I actually read this *last* week, but I never got a post up, so I’ll talk about it this week. I read most of this on Easter, also Trans Day of Visibility, which was fitting since it’s a T4T(both main characters are trans) Romance. And I loved it so, so much. I listened to the first book, but I had this one in paperback, and I just kind of wanted to hug it to me.

Always the Almost

I just finished reading this today. It was another trans romance, which I’d planned to read the last week of March, but it kept getting pushed back. I’ve been struggling to get reading time into my day, especially during the week. Yesterday I ended up pushing almost everything else aside and focusing more on reading. I think I needed a good reading day. But, this was so good. It was an ebook so I couldn’t quite hug it to me, but the feeling was the same.

Crafting

I’ve been continuing working on the lap blanket. I always seem to forget how long knitting a blanket, even a smaller one, can take. I’m nearly finished with the 6th micro pattern(these have ranged from 5 rows to 13) and probably not even halfway finished. I likely won’t have it completed before the end of this month, at which point, I may set it aside until after the summer. I can’t handle having yarn touching me when it’s hot out, so I’ll probably switch to cross stitch then.
