If you’ve followed me for a while, you know I used to post on the blog here, then I went away for a while. Don’t worry! I have been writing. Just not posting anything. Then, I decided to update my website’s look and considered getting rid of the blog. But, I left Substack, and the posts I made on my ko-fi page didn’t get much traction. So, I came back here to where I began like a dozen years ago. And when I did, I decided to just start fresh. So, this is my new 1st post.

Welcome!

For those who just showed up, hello! Nice to meet you! I’m Fallon(you probably figured that out). I write romance, mystery, fantasy, and historical stories all featuring queer, trans, and nonbinary characters(some fit all three of those, but not always). I also read A LOT, and knit and crochet as well.

I’m planning to use this space like I did my Substack, mostly for weekly updates on my writing, reading(books I LOVED; I will gush, prepare yourself), and crafting. Maybe even little bits of story, but I haven’t decided on that. Feel free to comment or contact me if you have anything to add.

What I’m Currently Working On

I have been a little scattered, though not nearly as much as I have in the past. But, I do have trouble sticking to one way of doing things. I’m working on that. At the moment, though, I decided to focus on one genre each month(combining fantasy & historical because I don’t have as many projects in those). And as February could be seen as ‘Romance Month’, I decided to focus on that. So for the rest of the month, this is what I’ll be working on:

Triple Play

This is book 2 in my Baseball Boys series(which I may find a new series title for). I’ve written a little over 23,000 words on it since the beginning of the year. Book 1 went back to a beta reader, but once I get that back, I’ll move it to the top of my list on things to work on.

Grady & Sloan

This is book 3 in my Queer Joy series, about 5 cousins(all who are nonbinary), inherit a bookstore from their grandparents. Originally, I planned on it being a rom-com, but yeah, I’m just not that funny. I mean, there’s a lot of banter between siblings/cousins/partners, but overall, that’s just not the way I write. Still, it’s on the light-hearted side, because I wanted to lean more into the joy than trauma(hence the working series title). I’ve only finished the first chapter of this, so far.

Slanting Sunlight

I’m working on revisions for this, which makes it a little harder to gauge progress, but it’s coming along.

Prove Me Wrong

I started this sometime last year, then set it aside for quite a while. It was sitting at around 22,000 words, and I added another 750+. It isn’t exactly romance. I’m considering it more ‘family drama’ but there are 4 different romance story lines running through it, so I’m grouping it with the romances anyway.

Cam & Gabi

This is the first book in my Small Town Murder Romance series, which also needs a new series title(I’ll figure one out at some point). Haven’t yet added more words to it.

Reading

Most Ardently by Gabe Cole Novoa

I didn’t actually read this in the last week. But, it’s definitely sitting up at the top of my favorite reads of the year so far. In fact, I loved it so much, I saw the library had the audio version available, so I got that, and I listened to it, only a couple weeks after I’d finished reading it the first time. It’s a trans re-telling of Pride & Prejudice, and oh my goodness, it made my heart so full and happy.

Crafting

I was so excited for baseball season to start, I made myself a baseball.

And now I’m working on this nonbinary pride cowl. I’m not quite halfway finished with it yet, but I like how it’s turning out.

Other Places to Find Me

I also have some stuff up on Ream, and plan to add even more. So, you can check that out if you’d like. There are 3 tiers, the first two at the same price, but one’s focused on my mystery stories and the other romance. The third is for people who enjoy both(like me!). All three of the Jax of All Trade mysteries are available in the mystery tier. I don’t yet have anything to read in the romance tier, but again, I’m working on it! And I do have a few things I’m making available to the public, so even if you don’t want to subscribe yet, you might find something to read.

And you can find a lot of my crafting projects on Ko-Fi. I have a few things in my shop there, and I plan to add more as I finish stuff(if it turns out good, of course). So feel free to check that out.

And if you want more daily updates(well, mostly, sometimes I miss a day), you can find me on both Instagram and Threads at @frbrown906.
