Intro

Did I say I was going to stop using baseball metaphors in my posts now that I finished drafting Triple Play? Did you *actually* believe me? 🤣 I have a problem, I know. I’m not exactly looking for a cure for it.

Anyway, as it is a new month, I have picked some new projects to work on. I may end up deciding to focus in on one. Honestly, I’m not sure how much of that is *actually* a conscious decision and just what my brain needs sometimes. Other times it seems to need to bounce around. And that’s the stage we’re in right now. I’m trying not to fight against that, since that only gives me more trouble.

Writing

Writing

Changeling

I finished writing the new back stories. Only one of the main characters has remained the same for this version(well, 2 counting the antagonist), but even their back story I completely rewrote. None are especially long, between 1-2 handwritten pages. I always write out these, even though I don’t write the actual story by hand(even the thought nearly makes my hands cramp up). Next up: Summaries & an actual outline

Jax of All Trade 4

I am now through Plot Point 1 on this! Body has been discovered, Lou has been pulled into another investigation. Trouble ensues! 2747 words added this week.

Know My Way Around

I’ve made more progress on this as well. Finished Chapter 4 and Chapter 5(which was on the shorter end). I’d wanted to get through Chapter 6 this week, but that didn’t happen. I did get it started though. About 2500 words this week.

Heartbeats on Main Street

I’ve been working on this as a bonus project, but decided to move it to my main projects list. This is the first in my Queer Firefighters series(though it actually features a paramedic). I’m planning on these all being novellas, so hopefully it won’t take me too long to get through it.

GH & SF 3

This is one I plotted out several years ago. I’m hoping I can still get to the heart of the story and write it. I have it outlined right now, but that’s all the more I did on it this week.

Editing

The Mirror to Perfection

I’m taking the Novel Editing, part 2 course through Fictionary, and using this for that. So far, I’ve revised through Act 1. Considering the story itself is only about 18 scenes long(around 12k words), it shouldn’t take me too long to do each week’s tasks.

Rounding for Home

I’m also taking the Revise a Romance novel course through Fictionary, and using this one for that. Also, working on inputting all the elements into the software. Starting with character, then I’ll move on to plot, then setting, so I’m not having to click back and forth. I’ve already finished Week 1’s tasks, and I’ve added all the character elements through scene 36/131.

Story a Day

Day 1

This was a 5 sentence story. I used it to write some back story for the antagonist in Changeling.

Day 2

This was a story between 2 characters. I wrote an exchange between Grady and Sloan from Know My Way Around.

Day 3

The prompt for this was to write a 100 word story about an inanimate object. I wrote from the perspective of a coffee cup. Rather silly, but it was fun to write.

Day 4

This was a 40 minute prompt. I finished it in a little over 30, though. A little over 500 words for something that might come into play in Know My Way Around.

Bonus

Coalville Hearts

Didn’t make as much progress as I would have liked on this one. I did finish a scene, but the story isn’t done yet. And I think there will be one more for this season after this, but it’s already mostly written(it’s something I wrote for a blog challenge a couple years ago, so I should just have to make some adjustments to it)

Reading

Reading

Fire of the Sorceress

I read half of this in one day, because I wanted to keep reading it instead of doing anything else. That’s how much I enjoyed the start to this series. I can’t wait to read the next book.

Crafting

Mountain Doodle Blanket

I didn’t make a lot of progress on this. It was really warm this week. I may not get much farther before I decide to sit it aside for the summer, we’ll have to see.
