I tried using time goals to make progress on my projects this week. It worked…to a point. Using blocks of time during the day does seem to work well. But, planning to work on projects for a specific number of hours didn’t work so well. So, I do think I’ll keep working in 5 30-minute sessions on a main project(and another for marketing, then anything else will be bonus), but I’ll have specific tasks for each project that I want to get through. Hopefully the combination method will work better for me.

Writing

Triple Play

Words were a little slow to come on this during the two days I worked on it. So, despite spending a little more than 5 hours on it, I only added about 3000 words. I am getting really close to the midpoint, though. I’d like to have it finished before the end of the month, but not sure I’ll quite get there. Next week, I plan to add at least 5000 words to this.

The Mirror to Perfection

I spent 2.5 hours on this project on Thursday. I made it through the big picture items I needed to address, mostly adding new scenes, or large chunks of rewriting. And I got about halfway through the next set of comments, which still involve a good amount of writing, but more on the sentence/paragraph level. And on Friday, it took me about 45 minutes to go through the rest of them. So, this stage is done. Next week, I’ll put it through Fictionary and see if there’s any big holes I still need to fill in.

Grady & Sloan

Another 3 hours went towards this project. Even though I had already started writing it, I decided to put it into Fictionary and using their new outlining feature. I got all the scenes(well, not all, I’m sure there will be more, but the main ones), and input POV and goals and such. I also moved one of the scenes I’d previously written(Had 2 + the beginning of a third), into the new version. Not sure if the other finished scene will fit or where. Next week, I should be able to start writing new words.

Reading

I did finish listening to Lindsay Buroker’s Star Kingdom series(well, kind of. There’s one more book, but it seems to be a spin-off, not part of the main series). I do enjoy these(even with a decided lack of queer characters), and I grabbed the last two in quick succession because I needed the rest of it.

Crafting

I finished the cowl I’ve been working on! And I think it turned out pretty nice.

Finished cowl in yellow, white, purple, and black.
